Please buy the Snowden EP even if you already have it....so they can get the full length out!
For years now, Bocumast has been following the careers of some big musical thinkers that go by the name of Snowden. If you have had the privilege of seeing them live you are very fortunate and you know what we are talking about when we say that this is seriously one of the best bands to grace the modern ages. "Slow Soft Syrup" is a pure magical music crystalline sculpture. Its was carved from the same stuff that can only be found in the inner workings of Superman's ice cave place....you know, where he goes to think and watch videos. We have eagerly been awaiting a new release from these guys for years now and we are losing patience....so please please please go support them. Your heart will grow twice its size when you hear this EP.

Adam Cayton-Holland!!! @ Comedy Works!!! Oct. 13!!!
That's 9 exclamation marks, people. Nine! Okay, now its 10. As you may well know, I don't give that many exclamation marks like hardly ever. I had the privilege of witnessing this young comic on a tender day in June. I say "tender" because the moon had just kissed the mountaintops goodnight and had set forth into the universe. The fading glimmers from far-off galleries were calling to the moon, but, you know what...you know what the moon did? It sat right there in the sky close to its best friend the earth because you know who lives on its best friend....that's right, you guessed it, Adam does. And he is performing again a week from tomorrow (or if you aren't reading this today, then you may have to adjust the time distance using mathematics).
Or just go by the date: Wednesday Oct. 13, 2010. 8pm
Comedy Works. (It really does).
I'll be there and I'll probably be laughing. Come laugh with me, won't you. With me, not at me.

Hideous Men new video by Milton Melvin Croissant III
Hideous Men don't take kindly to demons, witches, or warlocks, but they do like elvish pornography, which is not exactly what this video is about, but you can see the reference. "Tangled" is like a walk through a video game wearing a metal hoodie. Its a wallop on the disdain for modern culture to be so modern. Maybe we don't know that much about ourselves anyway. Maybe we are just like pioneers and pirates or the greeks and romans before them. Maybe this doesn't make any sense to you at all. I do know this: Pineapple is high in manganese, a mineral that is critical to development of strong bones and connective tissue. A cup of fresh pineapple will give you nearly 75% of the recommended daily amount. It is particularly helpful to older adults, whose bones tend to become brittle with age. So you should probably eat more pineapple and watch this video like 100x.

Halloween Sucks...Let's Dance!
![]() |
|
I hate Halloween. The stress of costume development consumes me and I typically want to shutter myself away in a closet until the throngs of vampires and hobgoblins have passed. And the zombies...the damn zombies. Are we locked in the 70's again? STOP IT WITH THE ZOMBIES ALREADY! AAARRRGHHHHHH! Ok. I'm better. The good folks at Moog have the cure for what ails me. This Halloween I'll be forgoing the fangoria in favor of the fervent dance party of MoogFest 2010 in Asheville, North Carolina! The lineup shown above doesn't even begin to cover all the performers, as it excludes new favorites Sleigh Bells, fucking Cee-lo, or throwback favorites Devo. And don't forget Fort Collins' own Pretty Lights! Seriously...this lineup is tits!! With tickets to the 3 day festival going for only $150 here, you should probably but them now and join me. But if you dress like a vampire I will most likely slay you. |

Otem Rellik's CD release party in Denver and album review

September 17th @ Meadowlark Bar
Line-up:
Otem Rellik (CD Release)
200 Million Years
Tommy Metz (aka iuengliss)
Hunter Dragon
Otem Rellik's new album "Elephant Graveyard" is fantastic. Just got it from him on Saturday night and I can't stop listening to it. It's definitely his most heartfull work to date and is a top notch production as well. The songs make you want to cry. Happy tears though, not all sad. But a very emotional ride. And his vocals have skyrocketed. Anyways, please check the album out here and listen to this song/video. It really creates a good feeling:

"The Open Heart" LP by id(est) is moody minimalistic electronic candy for the ears!
Was very pleased to hear from some old friends the other day. One of which was Carlos Esparza who writes music under the name id(est). I got in touch with him in college when I discovered his spiral galaxy records label. Really the only label of it's kind in Denver at the time that I know of which made me incredibly excited. Since then, Carlos has released lots of music along side other label mates The Flood Plain and Quality Control to name a few. All amazing electronic musicians.
This album "The Open Heart" is a very beautiful listen. Good for a sunny afternoon outside. It's Moody and thought provoking and I Highly suggest checking it out. You can listen to the entire thing and purchase it at his bandcamp page here.
