3. When he isn’t playing music, Ellison Park is a pilot for which airline? (hint: not delta)
4. True/False? Bad Luck City is also a nickname for Black Hawk.
5. The always amazing Dormir was snubbed in which category?

7. Out of all the bands nominated this year, how many of them start with the letter P?
8. Built to Spill, the showcase headliners, formed in which decade? (hint: not this one)
9. In the jazz category, what was John Coltrane’s nickname?
10. 25 bands are nominated in the Indie Rock category. (It seems to me that wouldn’t that then become Rock and Rock would then become something else. When a sub-category becomes more popular than the lead category does that not mean that the sub-category take over said head category..?)
11. True/False? Jam is NOT the same as Improv.

answers, but don’t cheat:
1. I can name them, but I prefer not to.
2. trick question. they are all easily approachable, like the snuggle soft bear.
3. Ellison Park pilots his parade of elephants.
4. False. Black Hawk has too many nicknames and most of them, I can’t mention here since this is a fuckin family site.
5. all categories.
6. toothpicks (they make your tongue numb)
7. a rather small percentage of them do given that the letter P is a prominent letter of the english alphabet.
8. 90s. before some of you were born possibly. wow.
9. Trane, but John has since passed on so don’t look for him on the jazz stage this year.
10. I asked some leading scientists and they all agree that indie rock is now rock and rock will now become less popular (or sub pop) rock. Sub Pop will be legally required to change their name.
11. True. True. True…..and, True. A jamband noodles, grooves, and solos its way through long meandering meditations, while an improvisation group squeaks, squawks, builds, compresses, explodes, destroys, surprises, and texturizes its way through instantly gratifying musical conversations.
